Bergita Ganse, Dr. med., is a medical doctor working in the Department Space Pysiology, Institute of Aerospace Medicine, German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Cologne, Germany. Her main research focus is on the musculoskeletal system in spaceflight. She is a fully qualified pre-hospital emergency physician and has completed basic training as trauma surgeon in Cologne University Hospital. In the PlanHab study, she is responsible for taking muscle biopsies and she measures bone density using pQCT. Bergita enjoys hiking and skiing in the mountains.
